Research focus

We have many active research projects and tasks that have been directed by the needs and priorities of our government partners. The following diagrams show the primary focus areas for our research.

There are opportunities for higher degree research students to work on some of our research projects.

Two main themes are:

  • landscape features, in particular the changes in land condition and ground cover over time. This condition is affected by fire, land use, the type of crops grown and the availability of water.

  • trees and woody vegetation, (trees and shrubs) where governments are interested in understanding in greater detail changes that have implications for carbon accounting, nature preservation and enforcement activities.
